I am looking for information on my Great grandfather James Coyle Sr. family and relatives. He married Mary Keating, daughter of Dennis Keating and Ellen Maddon at Cornwall, PA. Their children were: Ellen, Kate, Dennis, Mame, James Jr., Margaret, Elizabeth, and Edward who died as an infant.
Ellen Coyle married Henry Eagan Jr., and moved to Lackawanna, NY. Ellen was born in 1878, and died 1961.
Elizabeth Coyle married Edmund Columbus Schreiber. Elizabeth was born 1891, and died 1984.
James Coyle Sr. worked in the mines around Cornwall, PA and was a caretaker at Sacred Heart Church in Cornwall.

I live in Charleston, WV and I'm hoping that someone can help me with some graves. I have two (possibly three) relatives that are buried at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville (or Lebanon), PA. Since it is a 6 hour drive for me, could someone kindly go to the cemetery and take pictures of the following graves:

The third relative is Margaret L. Moody Dunlap who might be buried with Gordon Sr. I have the Plots as 9-B 0 961. Please take any pictures that would indicate where their plots are.

Looking for any info. on John Ward. Born around 1800 in Pa. and had son's Daniel, born 1829 and Jacob born 1830. They lived in Annaville and in 1850 lived in Millerstown. Jacob left and went to Wooster Ohio around 1850. Father John may have died prior to him leaving.

Hi! I am looking for my Great-Grandmother's family. Her name was Eva M (Lowry) Light. She was married to John Hoffer Light of Lebanon, PA. Her father was Joseph Lowry and her mother was Harriet(I think) Lowry of Lebanon, PA. Eva was supposedly 1/2 or 1/4 Native American descent. She was born in 1870 and died in 1905. We are trying to go back as far as possible, especially in finding information on the Native American heritage.

I am looking for information regarding the family of Norman B Bailey (b.1/1/30-d.10/28/96) who is buried at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetary along with his wife, Patrica A Bailey (b.4/14/32-d.2/28/01). They both were residents of Lebanon at the time of their deaths. Norman is my paternal grandfather. He was the father of six (6) children in Newburgh,NY of whom my father (Curtis b.9/15/1947) was the eldest. I have never met Norman and only learned of his name a few years ago while doing research. My father and I are not close, as neither was Norman and his son. Any information would be helpful as to my granfather's family.

Am interested in information about the house in which I grew up. It was built by Michael Meyer (Myer?) in 1834. A limestone house, it is in the Georgian style, with a spring in the basement and summer house behind. It is located on Old Mill Road in Heidelberg Township. If anyone knows the name of the area around what was originally Groh's Mill, also on Old Mill Road, I'd appreciate it. I think it was Spring Mills but am unable to verify this.
Also, am looking for information about the building that what was Pfeffer's Brewery/Zerbe's Cigar Factory on Church Street, formerly Front Street, in Schaefferstown.

I am looking for a connection about William Frank Long who left this area and went to California about 1900. He worked for railroad. He was related somehow to Issac Firestone, Emma, Lovington, Mahlon, Maimie, Stephen family. Lovington had a shoe store in Denver, PA. Stephen worked for Tuttle. This from a letter of 1909 to my grandmother, Martha Antonia Nelson-Dahm-Long-Steibacher.
The family lore is that William changed his last name.

Jacob Behney, son of Peter Behney of Heidelberg tp., then Lancaster County, moved to East Hanover tp. in the early 1780's. On the 1790 Federal Census, he is enumerated next to Casper Kreiser.
Two children of Casper Kreiser married women surnamed Behney.
Casper Kreiser, Jr. (1767-1854) married Christina Behney.
Frederick Kreiser (1774-1849) married Eva Behney.
Surely, the Kreiser children married daughters of neighbor Jacob Behney. The said Jacob Behney had a brother Melchior with daughters of the appropriate age; however, Dauphin County Orphans Court and Deed records both prove definitely Melchior's daughters and their husbands. Melchior Behney cannot be the father. Jacob Behney's other two brothers did not have children of the appropriate age to marry the Kreiser brothers. There are no other Behneys. Jacob Behney must be the father.
But it is not so easy. The compiled records below do not suggest daughters of the appropriate name--although there are marriagable daughters of the appropriate age. Were names confused? Or was, say, Elisabeth born Christina Elisabeth (as was her aunt)?
Regardless, I am seeking hard data on Jacob Behney. I have compiled census records and the church records below. Apart from that, I have no record of his life and times in East Hanover tp. Seeking any correspondance that can help elucidate his immediate family. (Data follows)

Currently researching Wentling's in Lebanon and would like to talk to any Wentlings in Annville or East Hanover that might have information to share. I am happy to share what I have found with you. I just discovered connection of Lebanon Wentlings to those in Annville. We are descended from Peter Wentling b: 1834. I am stuck on Peter at this time trying to find his parents names. Peter lived in Lebanon with wife Mary and children Henry, Levi, Benjamin, Andrew, John, Miranda & Amelia. 1850 census shows a Peter Wentling with same birth year residing in East Hanover in the Jacob Stoufer household he would've been 16 at the time. I've been told there is a church in East Hanover area that has records dating way back that include many Wentlings. Also looking to find out the name of this church.

Since so much of Lancaster County is now part of other counties I am trying to find information about a "William Wood" listed in Hanover Twp in 1750. Since Hanover Twp is now part of Lebanon County maybe someone has information about William Wood or the Wood Family in this area.

Info: My William Wood and his family moved to Orange County NC in late 1750s or 1760s. He fought in AM REV from Orange County NC.

While researching the PA Archives I found a warrant issued to Abraham Keynsingher in 1737. This is most likely my ancestor Abraham who immigrated to Philadelphia on the Mortonhouse in 1729.If anyone has any further information I'd greatly appreciate it- I've been trying to locate where the family settled after leaving Philadelphia for several years now.Ken K.

My Great Great Grandfather was Daniel Dieffenbauch ULRICH, born 15 Oct 1839 - Annville, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, USA, Christening: 7 Dec 1839 - Lebanon, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, USA, Death: 19 May 1898 - Annville, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, USA, Burial: in Annville, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, USA. His parents were Adam ULRICH (1803-1855)and Rebecca STEWART (1808-1885). He married Eliza N. HEILMAN (26 Dec 1839 - 26 Jan 1924) Marriage: 27 Sep 1860. They had ten children: 1. I find a Daniel Ulrich listed in the 116th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry, the 6th Regiment, Pennsylvania Cavalry (70th Volunteers) and (my best guess) the 7th Regiment, Pennsylvania Cavalry (80th Volunteers).
Does anyone have access to the records to clarify this?

SNAVELY/SCHNEBELE of Bismark (west Cornwall, apparently now Quentin) Lebanon Co. According to the obituary of Barbara (SNAVELY) McAllister(30 Dec 1786-22 Sept 1887), Barbara's parents were Peter, who died at age 72 and Barbara who died at age 78. Peter and Barbara Snavely, who had a farm where Bismark was later built, had 5 daughters and 6 sons (names not known), all of whom except two lived to an old age. Any information on this family would be appreciated.

I am interested in two records from the Trinity Tulpehochen Reformed Congregation, Jackson, Lebanon County. The first is the marriage of Rebecca Riegel to Daniel Berger (ancestry has Beyer) on April 7, 1838. I am still searching for Jacob B. Getz from Lebanon. He was born between 1810 and 1820. He was first married to Susan/Nancy Umberger then to Elizabeth Kreiser. He is buried at the Moonshine Cemetery. I have been searching for about 8 years. I have no idea what the "B" stand for. I'm guessing it was after a relative. I am working on my family tree (novice/ part-time) and I hit a road block. All my past Smeltzers were born/raised/died in Dauphin County,specificialy in West Hanover Township. My road block is around the early 1800's. I am looking for a Peter Smeltzer died around the mid 1800s and was married to a Rebecca Miller on 12/16/1826 in Dauphin County. Rebecca was also born in West Hanover Township in 1806. I can find nothing on Peter other than he is believed to have died in West Hanover Township (unable to find any records of that). According to his son's, William Smeltzer, Civil War pension claim Peter was born in PA. Any assistance or knowledge would be much appreciated. I have specifics regarding William and his lineage, if needed.

Please note my revised info on Ulrich Stephen who was buried in the Hebron Moravian Church at Lebanon, PA. It reads: . Please note that there were two Ulrich Steffys, one who was born at Steinsfurt in Germany (not far from Heidelberg) and who settled at Skippack in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He married Anna Altaffer in Steinsfurt in 1712. and emigrated with Rev. George Michael Weiss, a Reformed minister, in 1727 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My ancestor, Ulrich Steffy, emigrated most likely between 1741-1743 from Hoffen, Alsace, and previously Affoltern, Switzerland. I have an antique book that I bought about 6 years ago. It is called "The Life of James Abram Garfield" by William Ralston Balch. I bought it because I am an amateur Southern genealogist and a historian specializing in nineteenth-century America. I noticed after I had bought it that there was an inscription in pencil on the inside flyleaf that says: "P. C. Croll. Womelsdorf, Pa. Nov. 26/81. To Noble & Paul: This book about a President and by a Preacher is given to two boys - one to be a President, the other a Preacher. Who will be the President & who the Preacher & which is the greater? Lovingly Your Pastor P. C. Croll." I know that Rev. P. C. Croll was a local historian and author of books about Lebanon County, PA area & families as well as a Lutheran pastor from that area. I was going to sell this book on E-Bay but I wanted to put a post on this board in case anybody would like to know more about it. I will send a scan of the inscription to those who want it. Recently discovered an old bible record in my files which I bought in an antique shop years ago. My intention was to get it back to the family decendents. It consists only of a few pages with family information. The primary couple was William A. FREELAND (born 08 APR 1853) and Harriet WINEGARDNER (born 19 FEB 1858) who married in Harrisburg the 24 of DEC 1878. With proof of relatioship, I'll be more than happy to send this to a member of this family at no charge.It mentions the marriage of Mary FREELAND to Paul Leon MYERS on 26 AUG 1911 at Lebanon, PA. and seems to have been signed by three men. Looking for parental information on John (T?) Miller (Jr?) born @1826. Lived in Fredericksburg 1850 through at least 1870. Died before 1894. Married Mary Ann ???. She was born @1833. The had children Emma, John, Sarah, Ellen, Warren and Morris. Believe parents were John and Magdalena (also called Molly). Need confirmation. May have had a sister named Pega Ann.

Christian Andereck married Anna Jung in 1735. In 1738 he had warrent for land on the Little Conewago. Could not find it in Lancaster Co records. Is there a record of this warrant in Lebanon Co perhaps.

I have hardly any details. I have a sampler made in 1836 by a Caroline Seigrist. I am researching the item for an exhibition. If the sampler was made in 1836 then Caroline would have been between 8 and 12 when she made it. She could have been as young as 6 or as old as 16, but 8 to 10 would be the usual age, dating her birth to approximately 1826. If you have any information or leads, please let me know. Looking for information on a Paul Gaidos & wife Annie. Both were from Czech. & lived in the Cornwall, Lebanon Co., Pa. area. Paul was b. 12/20/1881 d. 12/10/1963 Holy Savior Cemetery, Cornwall, Lebanon Co., Pa. Wife Annie was b. 9/6/1889 d. 7/28/1941 Holy Savior Cemetery also. Found in 1930 census Cornwall, Leb. Co. Pa.; Paul worked as an ore miner. Also shows that they immigrated in 1903 & married in 1906, but can not locate in 1910 & 1920 census. Are there any descendants of the Howerter and Carmony families still living in the Lebanon Co. PA area?
I am trying to locate anyone who might have any old photographs of ANY Howerter or Carmony's that they would be willing to share copies of. I am willing to pay for any copies. I don't want the original photos. Good copies would be fine.My GGG Grandparents were Christian (b 1772) and Juliana (Carmony - b 1777) Howerter who lived in Annville. I have an old photo of their son, John and his wife, Nancy Weirich Hovarter (Howerter) and would like photos of his siblings if at all possible. I am also searching for photos of Mary Howerter Kreider (wife of Henry H. Kreider) and the Kreider children and/or any of their descendants. I have a photo of Henry.

I need to know the age at which a girl was no longer considered to be a minor, so that she could receive an inheritance from her grandfather in Lebanon county in 1855.I believe the birthdate given on my great-grandmother's tombstone is probably not correct. Looking for information on a Rebecca Long born about 1840and a Mary Long born about 1842 . They lived in Union Township in the 1860 Census,They lived with Levi and Lydia Dundon (he was a ferrykeeper at that time). They had 5 children of their own living with them at the time to. A query was posted on this list on 4 June 1998 by Byrl Laucks on Sophie OHMWAKE, who married John KRUMBEIN around 1785. A couple of thoughts. John and Sophie Krumbine are listed in the 1850 census (Heidelberg District, Lebanon Co., Pa, 14 Aug 1850, printed page 2)
15/15 John Krumbine, 71 years old, Shoemaker, $275, b. Pa.
Sophia Krumbine, 72 years old, b. Pa.
This would put John born ca. 1779 and Sophia born ca. 1778.There are several accounts of the Krumbine/Krumbein family that places John born in 1767; but it is not certain where that date comes from (tombstone, Bible record, etc.). All accounts show that John Krumbein was the son of Leonhard Krumbein, Sr., originally of Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.For many years I have been researching the genealogy of the am Weg/Omwake family of the German Palatinate and Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. Jacob Amweg of Cocalico Twp., Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania died between June 4th and July 13, 1790; the dates representing the signing a codicil to his will and the date it was admitted to probate. The eldest child of Jacob's second wife was Jacob Amweg/Omwake, 1773-1814; followed by seven younger children, including Sophia, who is almost certainly the wife of John Krumbein (her birth year calculated from the 1850 census -- 1778 -- fits perfectly).Here is a transcript of the 1790 will of Jacob Amweg:

IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I, Jacob Amweg of the Township of Cocalico in the County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania, husbandsman being aged and weak and sick in Body but of good and sound Memory and Understanding, thanks be to God for the same and concerning the disposition of my Estate wherewith God hath blessed me in this Life.First I recommend my soul unto the hands of the Great and merciful God who gave the same, and my Body to the Earth (our Mother) to be buried in a Christian like Manner, and my Temporal Estate after my just Debts are first paid thereout by by Executor hereinafter named I give and bequeath in Manner following to wit:Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catharine Amweg my Plantation with all the Creatures, to wit, Horses, Horned Cattle, Sheep and Swine, and also all the Personal Estate of what Name soever which shall be found or be left by me at my Decease upon the condition that my Children be maintained and raised out of my said Plantation until my youngest Child shall attain the Age of twenty one years if she my said Wife Catharine Amweg shall marry again then she shall have no more than an equal share with my children of and in my Estate.Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my first born Son Henry Amweg the Sum of Five Pounds in good Gold or Silver Money for and in lieu of his first Birth Right to be paid to him which my youngest Child attain the Age of Twenty one years as aforesaid and he shall beside his said first Birth Right have and receive an equal share with his Brothers and Sisters hereinafter named.Fourthly I give and bequeath unto my daughter by the first marriage the sum of Five Pounds in good Gold or Silver Money afterhand and she shall besides that also have and receive in equal share with her Brothers and Sisters when my youngest Child attains the age of Twenty One years as above mentioned. But as long as my wife Catharine Amweg shall be able to work or manage the Plantation herself with the Children, she and the Children with the approbation of the said Christopher Henry Reinhold shall continue so to do. But if on the contrary that cannot be done and my said wife and the Children shall manage backward and run in Debt then it shall be left to my said Executor alone as above mentioned. And further I give and bequeath unto my son of the second marriage, to wit Jacob Amweg twenty five pounds in money aforehand which he shall receive after his Brothers and Sisters shall have received their shares. In witness whereof I have hereby set my hand and seal the fourth day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety.
